What Makes This Essay Ineffective?

This essay is indeed very personal, but the impression created by the applicant is of a troubled person, a bully and problem child (I was a bad apple, a wannabe thug, and a class clown). Admissions only knows what you tell them, so why would someone introduce themselves this way? And why would admissions feel like admitting someone who seems kind of dangerous?
